Hello all
After almost two years here I am updating my blog. I am heading back to kolkata after a year. I cant wait to see what is in store for me. Hope all goes well.
Lets hope I update some great experience here in the meanwhile.
Here are pictures of a couple of concerts I sang along with my friend Vedanth

Fireflies Festival 2011. It was a great place to sing in and I had a wonderful time.
Vedanth and I got onto the stage at the crack of dawn around 6 a.m
The whole place was packed the whole of that night. People were slowly moving home as we sang.
This festival is to "connect" us back to nature( i wonder what that means). But I was sad to see that as I sat under the beautiful Banyan tree to sing, dead honeybees were falling on me. The whole purpose behind the concert was lost.
MISHAPS
Although the music was great, all the bands were beyond stupendous, the crowd turned it into an orgy. And amidst all this my mom had to be taken to hospital as she suddenly fell ill. Thats when we realised how badly the event was planned. There were no doctors available for emergency and the crowd management was so poor that it took us almost 45 minutes to get her out carefully and put her in my friend's car (which he could not take out from the parking lot due to the sheer number and again bad management) . To top it all, after sending her off to hospital which is 25 kilometers away from the venue, we who were performing that day were not allowed to get back in. We as artists did not have labels or tags and the security guys wouldnt let us in. Phew!!What hangama.
Hope its more controlled and peaceful and safe next year. If it went on the same way as this year, I am afraid it has to be stopped.

Vedanth and I sang a selection of Old tamil movie songs at our friend's marriage.. a full blast from the past. we had a great time on stage and it was nice to see the crowd easing to the music and enjoying. Then an elderly gentleman joined us towards the end with his Harmonica and man..he was magical. Loved the homely feel of the whole concert.
